• Recently on 27th November 2024, Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat Abhiyan has completed one year of its roll out.

Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

• What is it?: is a national campaign launched to eliminate child marriage through a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach, engaging multiple stakeholders.
• Nodal Ministry: Ministry of Women and Child Development
• Key Features:
  • Targets seven high-burden states such as West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Tripura, Assam and Andhra Pradesh, covering 300high burden districts.
  • Child Marriage Free Bharat Portal: Digital platform for awareness generation, reporting cases, and monitoring progress.
  • Complaints are automatically routed to concerned Child Marriage Prohibition Officers (CMPOs) across the country.
  • All States/UTs are mandated to register CMPOs on the portal.
