It is scheme under Ministry of Heavy Industries with aim to expedite the adoption of Electric Vehicles (EVs) by providing upfront incentives for their purchase, as well as by facilitating the establishment of essential charging infrastructure for EVs.
Target
- Support e-2Ws, e-3Ws, and e-buses
- Installation of 22,100 fast chargers for e-4Ws, 1800 fast chargers for e-buses and 48,400 fast chargers for e-2W/3Ws.
Features
- Incentives for consumers (buyers/end users) to purchase EVs.
- Grants for the creation of capital assets include e-buses, establishment of a network of Electric vehicle public charging stations (EVPCS) & upgradation of identified testing agencies.
- The Scheme shall be implemented through a Project management agency (PMA), which shall be responsible for providing secretarial, managerial, and implementation support.
