Why in news?

  • The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is all set to induct 2,400 women personnel in 2026 to achieve the target of 10% representation of women.

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)

  • It was established after the recommendation of the Justice Mukherjee Commission.
  • It is one of seven Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).
  • Ministry – Ministry of Home Affairs
  • Established in 1969 under CISF Act, 1968
  • CISF is tasked with providing security to various government installations including country’s airports, metros etc.
  • CISF also plays a vital part in disaster management, contributing personnel to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF)
  • Motto: “Protection and Security”
