The Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan is a national mission launched by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to strengthen responsive governance and empower grassroots tribal leadership across India. 

  • Formally launched in September 2025, it is designed as the world’s largest tribal grassroots leadership initiative.

  • Launched as part of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh and aligned with the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision.
  • Guiding ethos: Sewa (Service), Sankalp (Resolve), Samarpan (Dedication), in line with “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Vishwas”.

Objectives

  • Institutionalise tribal grassroots leadership and create a structured cadre of local functionaries.
  • Strengthen responsive, culturally rooted, problem-solving governance in tribal areas.
  • Improve convergence and implementation of major tribal schemes at village level (e.g., PM-JANMAN, Dharti Aaba, Sickle Cell Mission).
  • Promote bottom-up planning through Tribal Village Action Plans and local monitoring.
