Export Promotion Mission
- What is it?: The Export Promotion Mission is a government initiative that acts as an umbrella mechanism to coordinate export-related policies, infrastructure, logistics, and support systems across ministries, states, and export councils.
- Aim: Boosting India’s exports, improving competitiveness, and achieving the long-term vision of making India a major global trading hub.
- Nodal Ministry: Guided by the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry
- Key Features:
- Provides a structured mechanism for aligning policies related to exports by ministries, state govts and Industry bodies.
- Identification of Priority Export Sectors and Strengthening Export Infrastructure.
- Addressing Non-Tariff Barriers like Sanitary & phytosanitary (SPS) measures and Technical barriers to trade (TBT) and help exporters to comply with them.
- Single-window systems for exporters– enabling digitisation of export documentation and certification.
