The One District One Product (ODOP) scheme is a flagship programme of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, with the aim of transforming local specialities into global brands.

Objectives

  • Supporting artisans, farmers, and small enterprises, while preserving India’s cultural heritage and traditional skills.
  • ODOP aligns with Atmanirbhar Bharat and “Vocal for Local”, promoting sustainable production, innovation, and market access, with eco-friendly and traditionally crafted products positioned for international markets.

Market Access

  • ODOP products are linked to wider markets through platforms such as the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), PM Unity Mall and state-level e-commerce portals.
Fact To Know

  • Inspired by Japan’s “One Village One Product” model.
  • Launched in Uttar Pradesh in 2018, starting with Moradabad’s brassware.
