  • 9 Degree Channel separates the island of Minicoy from the main Lakshadweep archipelago.
  • It consists of 25 small islands.
  • Islands are classified into
    • Minicoy Islands
      • It is the largest and most advanced one.
      • It is the southernmost one.
    • Laccadive Islands
    • Aminidivi Islands
      • The 11 degree channel separates it in the north from the south Cannanore island.
      • It is the northernmost island of the Lakshadweep.
