  • Why does India need biomaterials?
    • To minimise fossil imports for plastics and chemicals.
    • Biomaterials use agricultural feedstocks (sugarcane, maize residues), creating farmer revenue streams and cutting emissions.
    • Boost export competitiveness due to demand for circular products.
