  • He participated in agitations against the Rowlett Act, the Non-Cooperation movement, the Vaikom Satyagraha, and the Civil Disobedience Movement.
  • Rajaji served as the last Governor-General of India till 1950.
  • He was conferred the Bharat Ratna in 1954 for his contribution to Indian politics and literature.
  • He formed the Swatantra Party to oppose the socialist and interventionist policies of the government. Important leaders of the party included Minoo Masani, G. Ranga, and Gayatri Devi.
  • His books include retellings of the Mahabharataand Ramayana in English, and Ramayana – Chakravarti Thirumagan in Tamil.
