Why in news?
- The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is all set to induct 2,400 women personnel in 2026 to achieve the target of 10% representation of women.
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
- It was established after the recommendation of the Justice Mukherjee Commission.
- It is one of seven Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).
- Ministry – Ministry of Home Affairs
- Established in 1969 under CISF Act, 1968
- CISF is tasked with providing security to various government installations including country’s airports, metros etc.
- CISF also plays a vital part in disaster management, contributing personnel to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF)
- Motto: “Protection and Security”
