- Fact: The Krishna is the second-largest east-flowing river in the Peninsula.

- Rises in Mahabaleshwar of Maharashtra.

- It is a right-bank tributary of the river Krishna.
- The Kalammawadi Dam has been built on the Dudhganga River.

- Originates in the Western Ghats at an altitude of 884 m.
- Passing states – Karnataka and Maharashtra.
- It joins the Krishna River at Almatti.
- The Ghataprabha Project is a hydroelectric and irrigational project across the river.
- Malaprabha River
- It originates in Kankumbi of Karnataka.
- Dam – Navilatirtha Dam.
- UNESCO sites of Aihole, Pattadakal and Badami are located on the banks of this river.
