What needs to be known?

• Hypersonic Technology
  • What is it?: Hypersonic refers to movement of vehicles or aircrafts at speeds of Mach 5 and above. This is often used for advanced missiles and aircraft.
  • Technology: Utilizes advanced propulsion, such as scramjet engines (Air Breathing Propulsion System), and glide vehicles.
  • Where used: Missiles, Aircraft, Space technology.
  • Mach: It describes an aircraft’s speed compared with the speed of sound in air, with Mach 1 equating to the speed of sound i.e. 343 metre per second.
