  • PRASHAD Scheme
    • Launch: Launched by the Ministry of Tourism in 2014 – 15.
    • Aim: Integrated development of pilgrimage and heritage destinations.
    • Features
      • Upgrade last-mile civic infrastructure at pilgrimage sites
      • Improve tourist experience (amenities, safety, interpretation)
      • Promote inclusive local development (jobs, MSMEs, crafts)
      • Ensure sustainability & heritage conservation
      • Public-Private Partnership (PPP) encouraged as part of development.
      • Implementation by state government
    • Funding: It is a central sector scheme.
  • Central Sector Schemes and Centrally Sponsored Schemes
    • Central Sector Schemes
      • Fully funded by the Union Government (100%)
      • Implemented by Central Agencies
      • Example: PRASHAD, PM-JAY, PM-KISAN
    • Centrally Sponsored Schemes
      • Cost-sharing between Centre and States
      • Ratio usually 60:40, 90:10 (NE & Himalayan states)
      • Example: PMGSY, PM-POSHAN, National Health Mission
