  • Popocatepetl is a stratovolcano situated in the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt, in Central Mexico.
• Stratovolcano
  • Also called a composite volcano which are steep-sided volcanoes composed of many layers of volcanic rocks.
  • They are typically found above subduction zones, and they are often part of large volcanically active regions, such as the Ring of Fire.
