What is it?

  • A volcano is a vent or a fissure in the Earth’s crust through which lava, ash, rocks, and gases erupt.
  • Volcanic magma is sourced from the asthenosphere.
  • The appearance of volcanoes is mostly cone-shaped mountains or hills.
