Major Space Missions By India: Chandrayaan-3

  • Chandrayaan-3 is a follow-on mission to Chandrayaan-2
  • The propulsion module will carry the lander and rover configuration till 100 km lunar orbit.
  • It would launched by LVM3
  • Mission Life  – One Lunar day (~ 14 earth day).
  • The Chandrayaan-3 mission is aimed at demonstrating critical technologies to land the spacecraft on the south pole of the moon.
  • Components – Propulsion, lander and rover.
  • The Laser Retroreflector Array on Chandrayaan-3’s lander, developed in partnership between NASA and ISRO, has started serving as a marker or reference point on the Moon.
