Savitribai Phule was a social reformer who, along with her husband Jyotiba Phule were instrumental in empowering women.

  • She was an active member of Satyashodhak Samaj along with her husband, which endeavoured to mitigate the distress and sufferings of Dalits and women.
  • She spread the idea of equality among the masses.

  • She co-established “Balhatya Pratibandhak Griha“, an infanticide prevention center for widows.
  • Mahila Seva Mandal, which aims to raise awareness about women’s rights, dignity, and social issues.
